Depression is a low mood that can last for weeks or months that can affect your daily life.
The treatment for depression usually involves a combination of lifestyle changes and talking to a therapist and that’s where I come in. My techniques will help you find the peace you are looking for.
Many things can cause depression such as:
- Stressful events
- Personality traits
- Family history
- Hormonal changes such as postpartum depression.
My role as a therapist, specialising in depression and other mood disorders, is to help you find a positive way forward in life when you are experiencing times of stress and anxiety. I have personally had challenging times and many others have too.
Finding happiness and a positive outcome is possible for every person. There are many distractions in modern-day life from the media and overwhelm from society and we all need the right tools to help us navigate this overwhelm.
I used to think that therapy was cheating!
I was perhaps once like you. I thought people didn’t need therapy to solve their problems. I have always believed that inner strength comes from the quality of our thoughts.
Before I understood the power of therapy I used to ignorantly think “What can’t people just change!?” But I was fortunate that I had a strong mind and I didn’t, back then, appreciate that other people’s minds worked differently.
From talking to friends and family members with problems I realised that the way I thought differently was helpful to them as I would passionately advise them about a better way of life. I was offering ‘therapy’ to my friends and family in Surrey long before I was officially a therapist!
I was led to become a therapist because people kept telling me I should offer therapy as a career. The suggestions and solutions I provided have proven to be most useful for those with low mood and depression.
The therapy I offer at my Surrey practice can have tremendous benefits for you in times of stress, depression and anxiety.
I thought that the solution to overcoming problems was to be a stronger person.
In my online therapy sessions in Surrey, I deliver NLP to help you understand your thought patterns and have better control over your emotions. NLP (neurolinguistic programming) breaks down complex thoughts into micro-doses of information that you can easily process and understand. It’s a safe space, unlike talking to friends or family. It’s a practice of proactively addressing the negative aspects of your life that cause you stress and anxiety.
